cytokine inhibitor
any one of a group of agents that inhibit the activity of cytokines, especially tumour necrosis factor (TNF). They include infliximab, etanercept, and adalimumab (Humira), known as anti-TNF drugs, which are used as disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs.
